Description:

Full custom Mauser in .280 Remington by a former ACGG member, the late Gary Stiles of Bethlehem, PA. This finely crafted firearm features a 23' Lilja sightless barrel with bore as new. The Mauser military action has been surfaced ground to remove all markings. The action features include custom square bridge style bases holding a Leupold VARI-X III 3.5x 10 scope with duplex reticle in Talley rings. Additional custom features include a checkered bolt release, Kepplinger single set trigger, three position side swing safety, and Blackburn bottom metal with straddle floorplate and trigger bow release. The custom bolt handle has a knob that swivels ergonomically with checkered ebony inserts. This is machining at its finest. Stocked in an outstanding piece of English Walnut in the American Classic style with very darkly contrasting mineral streak lines. Shadow line cheekpiece, steel pistol grip cap, two screw inletted swivel studs, point pattern checkering, and ebony forend tip with widow's peak. LOP is 13 3/8" over a Silver,s pad. Weighs in at 9lb 2oz as scoped.

This is an extremely nice piece in a great caliber with meticulous inletting and many quality custom features. It was a bespoke build with the original owners name engraved in small script on the barrel. It appears to be new from the maker and almost certainly has never been hunted. Mr. Stiles was a very talented gunmaker. I have owned several of his guns and all of the very highest quality. It just doesn't get any better than this.
