Manufactured, likely in the Birmingham trade right around the turn of the 20th Century, presumably for retail on the English commercial market.  A superbly crafted clone of Smith & Wesson's iconic large frame Double-Action.Frontier, the revolver features a 5" octagonal barrel with brass blade front sight, notch rear sight integral to the barrel release latch, fluted cylinder bored for six shots with automatic shell ejector, pommel with lanyard ring, and wrap-around grip of checkered Walnut.  The finish is a high-grade, polished rust blue, and the arm is embellished with near full coverage of vine and scroll engraving.  Apart from a serial number under the grip, the only identified markings consist of Birmingham proofs throughout, and a brass inventory tag identifies the gun as having been in the renown Supica collection.  A lovely piece of craftsmanship, this versatile revolver's ability to chamber .455 Webley, .450 Boxer or .476 Enfield would have made it an excellent choice for a British officer during the late Victorian era.

 Condition
Excellent, the revolver retains 99% of its period restored blue with no mentionable fading or wear.  The engraving remains sharp on all surfaces but for the trigger guard, the Birmingham proofs are strong and no import mark was found.  The wrap-around grip rates as very fine, with no wear to the checkering nor any cracks, chips or repairs.  Mechanically flawless, the action is smooth, the cyinder indexes correctly, and the bore is graded as very good plus, remaining bright with well-defined rifling beneath a hint of frost.
