The MR556 series is a civilian reproduction of H&K‚‚s famous 416 service rifle. The rifle features the company‚‚s proprietary short stroke gas piston that allows the gun to run cleaner and cooler than traditional direct impingement AR-style rifles. A tungsten-filled buffer tube to helps slow the bolt carrier during the firing action, allowing for increased reliability and reduced felt recoil during operation. Lastly, the rifle features a heavy-profile, non-chrome-lined barrel optimized for increased precision over the 416‚‚s traditional chrome-lined barrels. The 1:7 twist ideal for stabilizing a wide range of popular ammunition grains from the standard 55-grain M193 to the more specialized heavy OTM loads favored by special operations groups and precision target shooters, and retains H&K‚‚s world-class manufacturing quality resulting in barrels that retain their accuracy well beyond the limits of most competitors.
