Description:
A Holland & Holland single shot stalking rifle in 577-3". In solid condition throughout, it locks up tight with a Jones underlever. The sidelock works nicely and is engraved in tight English scroll along with the H&H name. All other metal parts are engraved similar with about 40-50% coverage. The 28" barrel is steel and not damascus. It has Alex Henry style rifling at .585" bore and strong rifling. It shoots 560 grain bullets well and the 650 grain Nitro for Black loads would also work fine.The barrel has a single standing rear sight marked for 50 Yds and a folding rear marked for 200 yds. The front sight is a blade with a silver bead. Both sights were made using screws to lock them in place and they are perfectly aligned. The H&H name and address is engraved on the barrel. The Walnut stock shows wear and some dents from field carry and is very solid with flat top checkering on the grip and forend. This rifle is easy to carry and would make a wonderful vintage hunting rifle as well as a nice addition to your collection.
