32292- FRENCH MAUBERGE ARSENAL AN IX PERCUSSION CONVERSION GENDARME PISTOL DATED 1818. Originally flint circa early 1818 converted in the 1830-40 period to percussion. 10” o/a with 5” smoothbore .57 caliber barrel. Lock plate signed “MANUF.ROY/MAUBEUGE”. Ordnance inspection stamped on barrel forward of the bolster “MR” and dated “1818” at the left breech. Side plate and trigger guard finial stamped with ordnance “C” in tiny oval cartouche. All original except forward lock screw which is very old replacement and the ramrod. Good with original patina no metal and stock with original finish. Small chip out of butt and hairline between trigger guard and ramrod pipe. Lock in perfect working order. $425.
