Offered for sale this week is a very nice example of a WW1 US Property M1911 Colt. This pistol was shipped to Springfield Armory on May 6th 1918. This was the last shipment of sequentially numbered M1911's form Colts. This is also one of the last pistols made with the beautiful Brushed Blue oven finish. Colts would soon thereafter change the bluing process creating what collectors have coined the "Black Army".
All original Blue finish and parts. The magazine is the proper two tone Colt WW1 era variation. The grips are show very little wear and are quite crisp. Aside from some light wear on the front strap, this pistol would be hard to beat.
