Sunday March 16th, 1pm - 4pm Griffin & Howe is excited to offer a dedicated program designed for adults wanting to learn archery. This comprehensive course will introduce you to the fundamentals of archery, from proper equipment handling to precise shooting techniques. The class begins with an overview of the fundamentals of archery, reviewing a brief history of the sport and a discussion of range safety rules. Students will learn about hand and eye dominance and will be fitted for appropriate equipment. To build muscle memory and proper form, we'll use a stretching aid to practice the 11-step shooting sequence before you take your first shots at a target, focusing on a smooth draw and release. Once the basics are established, we'll progress to shooting at scored targets and focus on refining their anchor point, hand position, and aim. Students will continue to practice the 11-step sequence, emphasizing consistency and accuracy. When everyone is comfortable, we move on to more advanced shooting techniques, shooting at different distances and working on grouping shots. To round off the class we'll introduce fun challenges for bragging rights. $195 per person (plus applicable NJ sales tax). All equipment is provided. Age 16 and over only. Dress code: no t-shirts, blue jeans or open-toed shoes please. Cancellation Policy: Must contact us to cancel 10 days prior to class to receive full refund, or 72 hours prior to class to receive a 50% refund (minus credit card processing fees and applicable NJ sales tax). Any cancellations made less than 72 hours before the class date cannot be refunded.
