The Weatherby Vanguard was introduced in 1970 as an affordable alternative to Weatherby‚‚s more expensive Mark V rifle. The Vanguard was originally chambered for standard calibers, but Weatherby later offered it in select Weatherby magnum calibers. The Vanguard incorporated many of Weatherby‚‚s signature safety features, including a recessed bolt face and a fluted bolt body.
The Vanguard also had a hammer forged barrel for accuracy and longevity
