Up for sale an original not messed with Ruger Red Eagle 22. Incredibly hard to find these days. It has the original owners reply after enquiring when he could purchase and pencilled notes on the envelope with serial number and delivery date. It has some period literature he also kept. It has the original salt cod box, inner Ruger cardboard box, original instruction sheet and even harder to find two-tone magazine.
By december 31st 1949 there were 1,138 pistols produced and shipped in 1949. Serial numbers between 0660 And 2000 were omitted. This pistol serial number 2127 was shipped in November 1949 using railway express in a wood salt cod box. That makes it the 786th pistol made. It is a type 1 Red Eagle. The bolt was never upgraded for recoil spring support so it remains 100% original.
The pistol shows spotting on the right side and left trigger guard. Both sides pictured in high resolution.but considering age and rarity it is still an extremely collectible firearm. It has all the early features including the two tone magazine. 75 years old! This is a rare opportunity to get a Ruger Red Eagle from the first 3 months of production. How many are still out there? The original cod box sells for 1750, the grips for 600...that means the gun is only 2150 including all the original paperwork.
