Payment Types Accepted: USPS Money Order Description: SOLD This is an 1860 Civil War era manufacture Colt Army percussion pistol. It indexes and locks up perfectly. The barrel has been reduced to 3" and the gun is in the form of what's referred to as an 'Avenging Angel', as a cut barrel revolver like Orrin Porter Rockwell used to kill many men as a bodyguard of Mormon leaders Joseph Smith and Brigham Young in the aftermath of the War. He was known as the Avenging Angel of the Mormon Church and these short barrel revolvers carry his namesake. Manufactured 1863. Numbers match with the exception of the grip strap, and some parts have inspector's marks. An interesting and colorful piece of American Western history.
