Description:
Serial #1044062, .30 WCF (.30-30), 26" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has a small amount of mild freckling within the grooves. This is a 1928-made rifle that has 85-90% of the original blue remaining, with silvering at the muzzle and on the projections, as well as some spots of mild surface freckling on the sides of the frame. Some further gray fading can be seen on the sides of the hammer. The walnut forend and buttstock are in very good-fine condition, with some minor handling marks and surface blemishes scattered about a period-added oil finish. The crescent steel buttplate has some original blue remaining, blending with a mellow plum-brown patina on the balance. The rifle has a high sporting bead front sight mated to a Lyman No. 21 aperture sight mounted to the left side of the frame, and a blank installed in the barrel sight dovetail. This is a handsome Model 1894, and is in fine condition overall. FFL or C&R
