Description:
Winchester model 1873 .44-40 caliber carbine. Serial #106415, 1882 manufacture. Standard 20" barrel. Bore is very good. All metal surfaces are an aged grey finish with some pitting on the loading tube and some smooth surface rust spots on the barrel. The receiver is excellent. Very good markings. The rear sight has been replaced with an old insert sight. Tang stamped "MODEL 1873". Original saddle ring and dust cover. Action functions correctly. Walnut stocks are in good condition but does have a few dings from handling. The wood shows wear and age, but probably an old replacement. The stock does have a carbine buttplate and is cut out for a cleaning rod, but no trap is present. This carbine has that nice old western look.
