***SOLD*** Excellent condition, all original Pre 64 Model 70 in scarce caliber .22 Hornet. This is a transition era rifle S/N 93268 with matching bolt made in 1948. It has a rather unique combination of special "clam shell" or "rabbit's foot" safety lever used only during this brief production period, yet a straight tapered receiver tang. This is a seldom seen combo and surely one of the very first rifles to incorporate this new tang shape change which would sustain until the end of production.
The finishes show a strong 98% Blue and 97% Varnish with only some scattered light surface denting of the wood on the off bolt side where they always get laid down. 24" barrel with excellent bore and excellent mechanical functions. Insides have been inspected and are clean and unaltered in any way. I have also inspected the chamber and verified that it remains a true 22 hornet and has never been reamed to K hornet.
A beautiful and difficult to find rifle that will be a pride to own, plus they are a joy to shoot!
