Description:
Merkel 200E Blitz action with double Kersten locks. This over-under shotgun marked "GEBRUDER. MERKEL, SUHL" and is in 20 gauge. Markings on the bottom barrel are "20" over "BOHLER STAHL", "Weichlot", crown over S, serial number of "54163". The barrel flat/lug are is marked 461 over Suhl proof house mark, crown over N, crown over U and crown over W. Serial number of "54163" is also present on the receiver and inside of forearm. US import/export marks are found on the bottom of the barrel "CAI" and INTERFOR USA GROUP INC. Blued solid matt rib barrel with front bead sight and ejectors. Receiver and tang have case-hardening that is fading, trigger guard is blued, and both have light engraving., dual triggers, tang safety selector, with chamber indicators. The lower barrel is choked "CYL" with the top barrel choked "IM". Stock dimensions LOP 14 5/8", DC 1.5", DH 2.25". Serial number research suggests the gun was manufacture in 1961? 20 Gauge
