Description:
28 inch octagon barrel chambered in 45-75 WCF caliber with a good bore that may clean up to be better. Barrel and full length mag tube are a brown/gray patina with traces of original blue in protected areas. Sights include a German silver blade front and an "1876" marked folding ladder rear. Receiver is also a gun metal gray with traces of original blue in protected areas. Light traces of case colors on the hammer and lever. Thumb print dust cover. 8k serial range. Action functions well but is a little loose. Walnut stocks are in good condition with only minor handling mars. The buttstock looks to be lightly freshened a while ago and is a little shy at the wrist. Crescent rifle style buttplate. A good example of an early Model 1876 rifle in the original caliber from 1879.
