Description:
Colt Lightning 32-20 medium frame rifle. Very nice original condition with British proof marks and Colt Historical letter showing shippment from Colt factory in Hartford CT. to Colt London Agency ,London England. British proof markings on barrel for export from England.
This rifle shows 90% + original condition, (my estimation) with sharp edge bluing loss on frame and barrel. Some frecking at muzzel of barrel and magazine tube, small amount of frecking on ejection port cover and front tang and bow of trigger guard, also on rear top tang. Butt plate and loading gate has turned a grayish brown color. Nice wood showing a few small dings but no cracks or major dints or gouges. Exceptional barrel condition showing little use and proper maintenance.
Very nice example of late production medium frame Lightning rifle.
