Popularly Named the “PERFECT REPEATER”
Here we present a C&R Winchester Model 12 Slide Action Shotgun, manufactured in 1948 in New Haven, Connecticut. The Model 1912, or as it is more commonly known as the Model 12, was Winchester's first slide-action hammerless shotgun. It was designed by T. C. Johnson, utilizing a strong frame and a hidden hammer. The chamber was made longer for the 2-3/4 inch shells in 1927, then later for 3 inch shells. This shotgun was available in many barrel lengths, all possible chokes, numerous gauges and 11 different models.
The Model 12 is an internal-hammer, pump-action shotgun with an external tube magazine. It was popularly named the “Perfect Repeater”. It largely set the standard for pump action shotguns over its 51-year production lifespan from August 1912 until first discontinued by Winchester in 1963 with almost 2 million guns sold.
