Here is a very early rare model 70 its a type 1 vari 1 meaning it is the 1st model with no changes , the 1st change was in early 1937, that would be around ser # 5000 or so, considering Win only made around 1250 model 70's in 300 Magnum before 1940 there probably were not more that 100 - 200 of 300 mag 1st models made , the gun has all of the original finishes and a perfect bore, it was ordered with a pad, the bolt matches and is original to the gun, the lyman 48 sight #'s match also, the only thing that is not original is that the rear bridge has 1 extra tapped hole to fit a Redfield Jr one piece mount, witch means you can mount a modern scope to hunt with it ,I have kept this gun for years as my back up hunting rifle ,I have shot this gun and it shoots 1/2" groups at 100 yrds, I have another just like it I hunt with , you will spend along time trying to find one like this and in this condition <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<SOLD>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. + ship , call or text is best must ship to FFL or C&R
