Markings: The left side of the slide is marked with the Walther “Banner” logo and “P88 Made in Germany”. The left front of the slide and frame are marked “001330”. The barrel at the port is marked with a Walther Banner logo, an “Eagle / N” nitro proof and “9mmX19”. The right side of the frame above the front of the trigger guard is marked with an “Eagle / N” proof, a “IH” date code (1987) and an Ulm antler proof.
Barrel Length: 4.0 inch”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade with a white dot marked that is fixed to the top of the slide. The rear sight is a square notch dovetailed into the slide that has two white dots, one on either side of the notch. The top of the slide has smooth finish.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are black finely checkered plastic with a matte finish in the smooth borders around the checkering. There are no marks in the smooth borders and no wear in the checkering. The grips rate in about Excellent overall condition.
Type of Finish: The slide is has a black blued finish that is lightly polished on its side flats. The alloy frame is black anodized
Finish Originality: All Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its original metal finish.There is a miniscule holster wear of less than 1mm on both sides of the slight at barrel’s end. The slide, hammer, decocker, and takedown lever serrations are sharp. The grip screws are sharp and the markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about like-mint condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The double action trigger pull is relatively smooth and the single action is has a bit of creep. The pistol has an ambidextrous decocker on the sides of the slide. We did not fire this handgun.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a total of two (2) original WALTHER 15-round double stack magazines. The magazines are blued and marked “WALTHER P88 9x19mm.
