Description: Guns Listing ID: 658657 From a New England collection comes this attractive specimen of one of the best cheap revolvers ever, the RG14. Manufacturer until 1968 was Rohm GmbH of Sontheim, West Germany. After 1968, RG Industries opened in Miami, with German Barrels, cylinders, and part fitted into US Made Cast Frames. RG Industries was sued out of business in 1986 by none other than Sarah Brady. From this RG’s Z05000 range serial number, it was manufactured in the early 1980s, roughly contemporary with its identical production mate operated by a subject named John Hinckley. Type is pull pin swing out, single and double action revolver. Construction is steel inside barrel, cylinder, hammer, trigger, and internal parts fitted into a zinc alloy / pot metal frame with pot metal barrel shroud, and with brown plastic grip panels. Chambering is .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle Caliber interchangeably, and cylinder capacity is 6 rounds. RG Revolvers were Not designed to withstand hyper velocity ammunition like Stinger and Aguila Super Max. Barrel is 3 3/8 inch two piece, pinned into place, with steel inner barrel that has 8 groove right hand 1:16 rifling. Sights are shroud integral serrated ramp front, with frame integral fixed notch rear. Trigger is .235 smooth face, with .350 width serrated spur hammer. Ignition is floating firing pin, with transfer bar internal safety device that prevents the hammer from contacting the firing pin unless the trigger is fully depressed. Frame is square butt type, small frame. Weight empty is 16 ounces, with center of gravity at the rear cylinder face. Surface detractions on this RG14S are minimal to moderate, principally light scouring on the barrel shroud surface, and edge whitening and occasional light freckling to the blue. We rate it as Very Good, 80 to 85 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Double action trigger pull is tight but smooth 12 pound vicinity. On both single and double action, the cylinder times correctly on all six positions. Cylinder has no lateral play with the trigger fully depressed. Blast effect to the under side of the frame top strap directly above the barrel’s forcing cone is minimal, only a faint etchy impress. From the minimal blast effect, and from the minimal carbon deposits on the cylinder face, we estimate this RG has been fired fewer than 100 times SOLD Manufacturer: RG INDUSTRY Model: - Rohm - RG14S Caliber Info: 22 LR Condition: Used - Non-Certified Barrels: 3.38 BARREL Finish: BLACK |
