Description:
"British military Third Model Brown Bess infantry musket. Overall length is 55". The 39" round .75 caliber barrel has a very good bore. All metal has a smooth bright/ brown patina with no pitting. The brass furniture is fine with an even aged patina. Stock is fine with sharp edges, a few issues dents, and no cracks or chips. The gun has the normal proofs on the left, a crown/44 forward of the pristing touchhole, and a crown/39 on the breech tang. The lock is marked “Tower" to the rear, with crown/GR to the center, and the crown/broad arrow military inspection to the front. Stock is inspected with an “MS" on the left flat. It also has two inspection stamps to the rear of the trigger guard tang. The sling swivels and a period replacement ramrod are present. The action functions correctly. Overall, this is a much nicer than average third model Brown Bess military musket. It has been used and fired very little. If you like condition, you will like this!
