Description:
38 inch heavy octagon barrel of 56 caliber. Measures 1-1/2 inches at the muzzle and 1-5/8 at the breech. 8-groove rifling. Bore has just a little light pitting. Features a Utica address along with a Remington stamp near the breech. Sharp corners and good markings with a plum/brown patina. Back action lockplate and trigger guard are a silvery patina. Top flat of the barrel has 4 neatly plugged holes. Also a couple of holes on the bottom of the barrel towards the muzzle. Wood is very good. This is an attractive New York target rifle made by one of the well regarded builders George Ferriss of Utica. Weighs a massive 21 pounds.
