Description:
Very nice and very eary German Luger manufactured in 1936 by Mauser Oberndorf.  The Luger is all matching including grips and firing pin, minus the magazine.  1936 was the first year that Mauser began using the full year of manufacture on the receiver, prior they had used "K" and "G".  The pre-37 lugers are rust blued with strawed small parts, and show a real high level of fit and finish quality.  There is some small wear to the high points, particularly the side plate, as is common with these, nice halo's around the serial number on the barrel and the grips have sharp checkering and are numbered to the pistol internally.  Interestingly the magazine is number matching and at first glance appears fully matching, but the pistol is an "h" block and the magazine is a "k" block which in german script are almost identical in appearance.  It is an early style magazine and correct for this gun.  There are many lugers offered for sale at any given time,it's finding those that are in high condition is where they will see the highest collector demand.  This one really ticks all the boxes for an early WW2 era luger in collector grade condition.
