Here we have an antique Smith & Wesson 1st model Safety Hammerless revolver chambered in .32 S&W caliber. The first model is unique in the way the barrel is released to be tipped up. The 1st model has a knurled barrel release at the center of the top of the backstrap rather than on the sides on later models. This revolver has several nicknames like "New Departure" and "Lemon Squeezer"". The 3 inch barrel has a very good bore with lots of rifling remaining. The gun has a majority of it's nickel finish remaining and looks very good with the pearl grip panels. It has some finish loss and discoloration but functionally in excellent condition. The barrel mechanism, trigger and grip safety all work correctly. This fine Smith & Wesson would make a great addition to an existing collection or a strong way to start a new collection.
