The Velodog was a French design by Charles-François Galand specifically made for carry by cyclists to defend themselves against dogs. “Velodog” combines the word “Velocipede” or bicycle with “Dog”. There were cartridges loaded with lead bullets, but some were loaded with less than lethal like wood or even cayenne pepper. There are Spanish proof marks on the left side of the barrel and frame. Overall condition is excellent. Original blue remains on the cylinder & barrel. Case colors on the frame are in excelent condition. The markings are clear and legible. The grips are in good condition. The bore is in good condition. Everything works as it should. Center fire. The only Cal. marking is "8mm". Bore is .321.
