Description:
Marlin Model 1893 Rifle fitted with a 25 inch half octagon/half round barrel, rifle sights, walnut forearm, straight grip walnut stock fitted with a steel rifle butt-plate, 2/3rd length tube magazine, color case-hardened frame, butt-plate and lever, all other parts are blue finished, and it is chambered in .32-40. The tang is stamped "MODEL 1893", the top of the frame "MARLIN SAFETY", and the barrel is stamped "Special Smokeless Steel". The rifle is in very good condition, with the barrel retaining 70% blue and the tube magazine approximately 50%. The frame retains traces of its original finish, having turned a silver grey patina. The lever retains 25% original finish, with the rest having turned a silver grey patina. The butt-plate has lost all of its finish, having turned a grey patina. The bore is bright, with sharp rifling, and the action is tight and fuctions perfectly. Barrel Note: For whatever reason, there has been an additional dove-tail machined into the barrel, where the rear sight is located, and the original dove tail has been filled in. The stock fits well and appears to not having been sanded and refinished. The forearm fits well also, but does appear to having been lightly sanded and refinished.
