Payment Types Accepted: Money Order, Certified Check Description: This is a rather scarce Colt Model 1878 Double Action Revolver in the seldom seen big bore caliber .476 Eley made for the British market. I believe this may be the largest handgun caliber Colt ever offered in its lengthy history. Standard 5 1/2" with London Pall Mall Barrel Address, Blued finish, Checkered hard rubber grips, and lanyard ring. Antique Pre-1898 Serial Number is in the 26,00 range and was made in 1890. The original blue is pretty strong and bright overall with thinning from a light to medium amount of holster wear...mainly thinning or wearing the blue down on the high spots...top of sight left side of barrel, ejector tube housing and the outer areas of the cylinder. There is still blue remaining on the gripstraps. Action works in double and single action modes. Bore is Excellent. Hard rubber grips are in Excellent shape with nice checkering, perfect metal fit and no chips, cracks, or repairs. Nice example of a Colt in a big bad dog caliber! Antique, Pre-1898.
