Description:
"Made from 1878-1881. 40-50 Sharps caliber (40 1 7/8) with a 28" barrel. Nice sharps gun. Barrel has some of the original finish, but mostly a mottled gray patina. The frame was case hardened and now has a silverish patina. Wood is very good. Front sight is a replacement. The bottom of the pistol grip has been modified and has a “W" carved in the butt. Butt plate is gutta percha and is excellent. Very fine gun overall. The bore is very fine with no major pitting and strong rifling. These are fairly scarce guns with roughly 8700 guns made in total production.
