Description:
Merkel O/U combination gun. This is marked Gerbuder Merkel on the bottom of the receiver and Robert Hubner on the barrels. The shot barrel is 16GA, choked full, the rifle 8X57JR. The barrels are 26 7/16 long. The rifle bore is very good, bright and shiny. The shot bore is also bright and shiny but there is some very minor pitting, some call it staining, in the first 6 inches or so. There is a flip up rifle sight and also claw mounts. There is a Hensoldt scope that comes with the gun that almost fits. The distance between the mounts is correct just the scope claws are slightly narrow. The optics are good in the scope. There is a Greener style cross bolt and cocking indicators. The scalloped box lock makes a heart shape. The rifle trigger is a set trigger. The LOP is 13 1/4" over a GM marked horn butt plate. The wood is good with regards to no repairs but there are use and handling marks. I have cleaned a few spots to show the finish under of dry oil. The barrels, when cleaned, will have 90+% coverage of old blue and the receiver will have some trace case color. There is no rust or rust pitting. Please feel free to mak an offer.
