Listing a Savage 1899 saddle ring carbine of mine in I believe the first caliber chambered in the 1899 that being the 303 Savage.carbine's serial number is 165648 dateing Mfg to 1915. That said the condition is very good for a 105 year old rifle. No cracks in the area 99's are noted for nor any chips missing. The numbers all match , butt plate, stock, forearm for those of you that insist on more than just a nice looking rifle. Bore is fine , most of these old Savages were good shooter's no reason this one wouldn't be. I bought this a few years back from an old freind who told me he had to thin the herd ! Well now it's my turn. 303 Ammo is easily found at most gun shows and is a fine white tail cartridge found in many deer camps of years ago. Savage was ahead of the game developing powerful short action cartridges. I've taken my pictures in outside light to show off the original condition of this fine rifle. Equipped with Savages own rear leaf sight. Old Bill said he'd owned this for many years and apparently took very good care of it. Rifles C&R eligible so I'd need a copy of yours or a FFL to ship it to. I ship USPS, Priority , so an adult signature is required.
