U.S. M.1903 Springfield Rifle 20 Round Extended Box “Rare” Magazine, originally intended for the Cameron/Yazzi periscope rifle it was also used with the Air Service (for use in WWI observation balloons and early WWI spotter aircraft) version of the 03 (See The Springfield 1903 Rifles by Col. Brophy, pg. 219), this magazines was also used during WWI in the trenches to increase the fire power of the rifles, when this magazine is added to the rifle it adds 15 rounds to the normal 5 in the rifle increasing the rifles capacity to 20 rounds, these magazine are considered scarce-rare today, overall condition on this scarce magazine in its box is very good – very good plus.
