Payment Types Accepted: USPS Money Order, Certified Funds Description: This old Colt revolver has great character and much old west flavor from the 1880's -90's time period! Shipped in the "Soft" for engraving probably out of the L.D. Nimschke shop of engraving who did most of the engraving work for the firm of Hartley & Graham during the 1880's-90's time period, that this particular gun was engraved. The gun is in a dark patina with slight traces of original nickel in some of the protected areas, mostly the butt area and trigger guard.(see pics). The engraving does show wear from being carried and used. There is some pitting on the forward part of the frame from the black powder ammunition used back then, more so on the right front portion of the frame, but, does not distract much from it's overall appearance as the gun has never been cleaned or polished. The old ivory grips are very neat looking, with a steer head carved on the right hand side with a faint cattle brand etched above it. A snake has been carved on the left side of the ivory grip, as well. (see pics). The mechanics are excellent and tight, the bore is good with very minor corrosion, all factory markings are good and readable, and all 3 serial #'s match. Comes with an original spotted period double loop holster that fits the gun perfectly, and factory letter documentating the engraving. This old Colt is more than likely from the southwest, where it was carried and used as a tool by some wealthy rancher or cowboy. Please ask questions if desired.
