The carbine's serial number is 1652241. This carbine has the early detachable operating rod recoil spring housing. This carbine is in all original and unaltered condition. It has all the correct early parts for this serial number group. This carbine shows very little use or being shot. The stock has been linseed oiled but not sanded. The stock has a very nice gloss finish. The stock is in it's original configuration. It has the correct light colored sling. This carbine would rate 98% condition. This is a really fine early Quality Hardware carbine that any carbine collector would be thrilled to have in their collection! Quality Hardware Produced 359,666 carbines during the war. This would make it 5.9% of the total production of carbines produced during the war. This is a rare carbine in the early "I" stock. "I" stocks were only used for a short time.
