Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Ulm/Do Modell PPK/S Cal. 9mmkurz (aka .380) Pistol, Made in Germany
Description: The components for this Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Ulm/Do Modell PPK Cal. 9mmkurz (aka .380 Auto) pistol were manufactured by Manurhin in France, then shipped to West Germany for assembly, then imported to the United States by Interarms, Alexandria, Virginia for sales. By European rules, this officially made the gun manufactured in West Germany. The gun is a 7-shot, double-action, semi-automatic pistol with a 3¼-inch barrel, fixed sights, blued (black) finish, and black plastic checkered grip panels. Accessories include two original 7-round magazines with pinky extensions, original cardboard box, original owner’s manual, original cleaning rod, and original undated test target containing the gun’s serial number. An extra set of wood grip panels, of unknown origin, are also included. The left side of the slide, toward the muzzle end bears the Walther ribbon logo with “Made in W. Germany” stamped just below. Further back on the left side of the slide is stamped “Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Ulm/Do.” (1st line) and “Modell PPK Cal. 9mmkurz” (2nd line). The bottom edge of the left-side grip panel is stamped “MADE IN GERMANY”. The right side of the slide, toward the muzzle-end of slide, reads INTERARMS (1st line) and Alexandria Virginia (2nd line) both words are stamped over their star logo. The beach-end of the left side of the slide, at its bottom edge, is stamped the German eagle over N which is the proof mark of the House of Ulm. On the chamber, exposed through ejection port, is stamped “71” (born-on date or year of manufacture 1971), a deer antler, and the German eagle over N. The overall condition of this gun is 99- percent. The most significant marks on the gun are some handling wear to the bluing on the corner edges of the front strap and back strap. It is most significant on the bottom right of the backstrap. Thus my 99- assessment. There is one very light and tiny scratch just below the bottom front edge of the ejection port. There are two or three more much smaller and lighter just behind the muzzle on the right side of the slide. You have to get all these in the right light and at the right angle to see them. The original black plastic checkered grip panels are like new, with no damage or other marks. The box is somewhat tattered with one corner split. The cleaning rod appears to be unused. The owner’s manual is in excellent condition. The photos are high resolution, so zoom to see details. Contact me for additional photos of any area you would like to see or see better.
