SCARCE STEYR 1912/NAZI POLICE CAL. 9MM LUGER, SER.34541. THIS PRISTINE G.I. BRING BACK IS ONE OF ABOUT 60,000 STEYRS THAT WERE IN AN AUSTRIAN ARSENAL WHEN THE NAZI'S INVADED . THE WERE SEIZED BY THE NAZI'S AND SENT TO AN ARSENAL WHERE THEY WERE REBARRELED FROM 9MM STEYR TO 9 MM LUGER. THE AUSTRIAN EAGLE WAS THEN REMOVED FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SLIDE. THE GUNS WERE ALL COMPLETELY REFINNISHED, THE LEFT SIDE OF THE FRAME WAS STAMPED WITH THE EAGLE/N WAFFENAMT AND THE RIGHT SIDE WITH CORRECT EAGLE /L POLICE PROOF. THEY WERE TTHEN ISSUED TO THE NAZI OCCUPATION POLICE. THIS BEAUTY HAS RETAINED ABOUT 98+% OF THE THE ARSENAL FINISH. THERE ARE ONLY TWO SURFACE BLEMISHES THEY BOTH APPEAR UNDER THE REFINNISH. ONE IS DIRECTLY OVER WHERE THE AUSTRIAN EAGLE WAS REMOVED. THE OTHER VERY SLIGHT ONE IS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SLIDE. THE LITTLE LOSS OF FINISH IS IT HAS IS DUE TO SLIGHT SHARP EDGE SILVERING.
