This M1913 is a wonderful example of S&W’s first semiautomatic pistol, that collectors have categorized into seven variations, this being a type III pistol, SN 791.
Description:
Standard configuration M1913 with fixed sights over a 3.5” barrel chambered in .35 S&W AUTO. The left side of the barrel is marked with the caliber. The left side of the frame having the S&W logo and a “safe” marking near the backstrap. Full SN on frontstrap. Fitted with smooth walnut grips, each panel having the S&W logo, secured with a single screw and marked with a matching SN. Fitted with a checkered side-sliding magazine retainer and an unmarked magazine with six indicator holes, bottom retention notch, and a fixed floorplate.
Condition:
EXC with crisp 97-98% bright original high luster factory blue. Comparable condition grips with a few superficial handling marks. Comparable condition magazine. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. A wonderful S&W M1913, now about 100 years old, sure to please any S&W collector or enthusiast of early design semiautomatic pistols.
