1970 - Smith & Wesson - Model 41 .22 LR - - A Suffix Serial Number

Smith produced a run of 41 frames and a run of 39 or 52 frames and inadvertently used the same serial numbers. The 1968 GCA made it illegal to duplicate serial numbers. The fix was to append an "A" to the end of the serial number to differentiate the two. Somewhere out in the world there is a 39 or 52 with the same number.
