Super desirable Devel conversion of a S&W 59, made in 1976/77, by Charles Kelsey of Devel, now with nickle finish. At the time, these were considered to be the ultimate custom conversion for a carry pistol. Many features subsequently borrowed by mainline manufacturers. In this case, the S&W M59 slide and frame (mags too) were shortened, the trigger guard relieved on the right side for right hand use and a finger rest added to the forward trigger guard. Grips made from wood grained Micarta with Lexan windows on each side to view cartridges, the magazine body having been modified with a large viewing slot on each side. Bobbed hammer and shortened tang. As part of the customization, the parts were hand polished, Wolfe springs substituted, the feed ramp smoothed and the ejection port lowered. To reduce weight, the slide was milled with long flutes. This example was the 84th pistol made by Devel as reflected by the serial number that was modified by adding a dot suffixed by the Devel sequential serial number. Complete with 2 spare 10 round magazines with finger extension bases, original pouch, and original holster. This is the complete, full house package!
