Offered for sale is this beautiful Steve Herrett Edition Thompson Center Contender. 
This is serial number SH190, One of Five Hundred, 10" barrel chambered in the famed 30 Herrett caliber.  This tastefully embellished pistol has ample coverage of scroll engraving with a likeness of Mr. Herrett engraved on the left side of the receiver and the Outstanding American Handgunner award on the right.  There are wedges of engraving on the barrel and frame plus, Steve Herrett's signature appears on the top of the barrel, the caliber on the right side and "One of Five Hundred" on the left which are all done in script, and the barrel address has been discreetly moved to the bottom by the muzzle.  The metal surfaces appear to retain 100% of the original blue.  The nicely figured grain of the smooth walnut finger groove factory "Herrett" style grips rate excellent and the lighter colored wood grip cap has "Steve Herrett" engraved across the bottom in script letters. The nicely figured grain of the smooth factory walnut forend rate near-excellent with one small ding.  The pistol features fully adjustable black blade rear sight, black blade Patridge front sight and hammer mounted safety / selector lever.  Included with the gun is the original factory walnut presentation box with red velvet lining

Also included is a Thompson Contender “Super 14” extra barrel chambered in the same 30 Herrett.  On this interchangeable barrel, the original sights were removed to fit the EABCO T/C scope mount and the barrel muzzle has been threaded to accommodate the JP Competition Series Compensator.  The barrel length is 13 ½ ” and the compensator adds 2” for a total barrel length of 15 ½ ”.  This work was preformed by E. Arthur Brown Company (EABCO) for the original owner.  The scope is mounted on the rail w/heavy duty rings and the Thompson Center  2.5-7x pistol scope also in gloss black.  Excellent forearm attached & the bore is excellent sharp and shiny.  The addition of this barrel & scope, makes this a special package as the original barrel can be preserved while the owner can experience the enjoyment of shooting the great 30 Herrett cartridge.

The cartridges were developed by stock maker & gunsmith Steve Herrett in 1972 along with his lifelong buddy, gun writer Bob Milek.  Although the Herrett cartridges were always wildcats, T/C offered them as standard barrel options just a year later in 1973.  T/C also sold die-sets in this caliber and a 2 die set is included in this package.

There are 33 hand-loaded 30 Herrett rounds in the green MTM box pictured and 6 spent shell cases.  The load recipe is written on the box top and more info will be included with the purchase.  All cases are Star-Line head-stamped and started out as 38-55 cases, then re-formed to the 30 Herrett.  These are new cases, never fired.  If you have questions about the load or recipe, please ask.  IF you are successful in your and IF you want these live cartridges, you can request them and I will ship them to you separately from the pistol and all you'll pay is the actual shipping cost.  I've done this before and the shipping is by UPS Ground and is typically between 30.00 to 40.00.  You can wait to decide until we know your shipping address, then I can get the actual cost prior to shipping.  Please note that these cartridges are NOT being sold.  They are being given to you and shipped to you and you are paying for the shipping only.  IF this is something you want, PLEASE contact me following the so we can calculate the ammo shipping and you can include it with your payment.
