The 1911 Ultra Compact features a black, hard-coat anodized alloy frame, and a stainless steel slide. The hammer recesses into the beavertail grip safety to protect it when carrying the weapon cocked with the thumb safety on, and to avoid hammer-bite while firing. A pronounced memory bump on the grip safety enhances consistent hold for greater accuracy. A checkered front strap and mainspring housing and checkered wood grips provide a solid non-slip hold, even with sweaty hands. The Sig Sauer 1911 Ultra Compact Semi-Auto Pistol comes with low-profile SIGLITE® night sights for rapid sight acquisition in any light, including total darkness.
