Description:
This is a Sauer and Sohn model 38H that was manufactured late in the war for the German army. The waa/37 proof on the trigger guard shows that it was accepted for use by the German Army. The serial number is 490672 which places it as a variation 4, 38H. The serial number range for a variation 4 is 484000 to approx 507000. Some of these guns were manufactured so late in the war that they never made it into combat. Looking at the mint condition of this pistol, it may of been one of those. Inside of the slide is the last 3 digits of the serial number. ( please see the photos. ) The barrel shows strong rifling and appears to have not been shot much.
This 38H also comes with a generic World War 2 holster . These holsters were designed and built to hold any of the 7.65mm pistols that the Germans used. This holster has been with a 38H for quite a while. You know this by the "bump" on the mag holder. This is formed over time by a feature on the side of a 38H magazine.
The rig includes 2 late war, plain bottomed 38H magazines. This late war, MINT rig would be perfect in any WW2 pistol collection.
