The Rock Island 1911 A1 Tac Ultra FS Convertible is an out-of-the-box target grade pistol designed to fulfill a variety of roles whether it be competitive target shooting, plinking, or home defense. Chambered for the popular 9mm Parabellum, the pistol utilizes the classic 1911 A1 frame for easier control and maximum parts compatibility. While some may prefer the 2011 double stack frame for its greater magazine capacity, not everyone can get a hand around such on such a wide grip. This can affect accuracy. The 1911 A1 Tac Ultra FS uses a 5-inch bull barrel to achieve target-grade accuracy. It also features an ambidextrous, extended safety for easy operation. The full-length dust cover features an M1913 rail for compatibility with a wide range of lights and lasers. The .22 Tuason Craig Micromagnum, or .22 TCM for short, was originally created by Fred Craig by shortening the case of the 5.56 NATO cartridge so that the shoulder is at approximately the same length as the .38 Super cartridge. Originally loaded with a 40gr bullet, the shorter 9R version was later created for use in Glock conversions and their magazines. In the 9R variant, the a shorter, 39gr bullet is used and deeply seated in the case. This allows it to fit into standard-length 9mm magazines. Overall, the .22 TCM trades bullet mass for increased velocity (2000 fps and up) and reduced recoil, a concept shared by such cartridges as the .22 Spitfire, .221 Remington Fireball, 7.63 Mauser, and 7.62 Tokarev. As mentioned before, the Tac Ultra FS Combo can fulfill more than one function. Its high accuracy makes it suitable for target competition while its power makes an excellent choice for protection from four-legged predators when hiking or camping. This pistol is brand new but appears to have a few blemishes on the slide. It comes with one 10-round magazine.

The Rock Island 1911 A1 Tac Ultra FS Convertible is an out-of-the-box target grade pistol designed to fulfill a variety of roles whether it be competitive target shooting, plinking, or home defense. Chambered for the popular 9mm Parabellum, the pistol utilizes the classic 1911 A1 frame for easier control and maximum parts compatibility. While some may prefer the 2011 double stack frame for its greater magazine capacity, not everyone can get a hand around such on such a wide grip. This can affect accuracy. The 1911 A1 Tac Ultra FS uses a 5-inch bull barrel to achieve target-grade accuracy. It also features an ambidextrous, extended safety for easy operation. The full-length dust cover features an M1913 rail for compatibility with a wide range of lights and lasers. The rear sight is an LPA-manufactured MPS1 adjustable type while the front sight is a dovetail mounted fiber optic. This makes the sights easy to pick up quickly. The pistol is fitted with G10 grips. While slightly rough, their design ensures the shooter will retain a good grip on the pistol during firing. A beveled mag-well adaptor has been fitted for easier and quicker mag changes. The skeletonized trigger is set to provide a trigger pull between 4 and 6 pounds. As this is the Combo model, the pistol comes with a spare barrel chambered in the 22 TCM 9R along with the associated recoil spring.
