Description: Standard configuration Sauer & Sohn 1913, first variation, with fixed front and rear sights, the latter used as a stop for the firing pin retention knob. Top of slide is manufacturer marked with the left side marked “Patent” and the right side with the caliber. Full serial number on left frame that has been fitted with a push button behind the trigger guard cutout. Only the first variation pistols had this button that requires depression to fire. Crown/N proofing in usual locations. Lightly scribed “FH” on right frame. Black plastic grips with the S&S logo surmounting a checkered bordered field. Original magazine with two oval windows on each side and an unmarked fixed base. Complete with original capture paper showing SN of pistol, dated 24 June 1946, and noted to be in “Duffel Bag”. Synopsis: Super early Sauer M1913, first variation with trigger safety button, crisp original grips, correct magazine and original WWII capture paper. Condition: VG+ bright, original rust blue finish with holster wear in expected places and slight speckling/toning of the gripstraps. Crisp original grips. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. Capture paper with folds and minor edge losses as photographed. A super rare Sauer in its own right, even better with crisp original capture paper!
