British No. 2 Mk. I* Enfield Revolver 1940 Date (DP Marked)
Description: Serial #L8758, .38/200 British (.38 S&W), 5" barrel with a very good, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves. This double-action only revolver has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, and barrel with the metal retaining about 98-99% of a wartime phosphate finish having a noticeable turn-ring around the cylinder. The revolver is copiously marked with “DP" (Drill Purpose) stamps on most of the components, as well as “UNSERV" unservicable stamps on the frame ahead of the trigger guard, barrel at the hinge, and on the rear of the cylinder. The grooved wooden grips are in very good shape with numerous small chips and minor handling marks and blemishes on either side. The lock-up is still tight and the mechanism functions flawlessly. This is a neat, “DP" marked example of a wartime Enfield revolver, not import marked, and would be a great addition to a collection.
