Post-WWI Deutsche Werke ORTGIES 7.65mm Hammerless SEMI-AUTOMATIC Pistol C&R Type Pistol Given to EVA BRAUN by the Führer
Description: Post-WWI Deutsche Werke ORTGIES 7.65mm Hammerless SEMI-AUTOMATIC Pistol C&R Type Pistol Given to EVA BRAUN by the Führer Here we present a C&R Deutsche Werke Ortgies Pistol, made circa the early 1920s in Erfurt, Germany with a production run between 1919 and 1924. Heinrich Ortgies designed the pistol while living in Liège, Belgium during World War I. After the war, he moved to Erfurt, Germany, where in 1919 he began production of the pistol in his own factory. The Ortgies pistol is a hammerless semi-automatic pistol produced in Germany in the years immediately after World War I, first by its inventor Heinrich Ortgies and then by Deutsche Werke. Inexpensive, but of good quality, the pistol achieved considerable success at contemporary shooting competitions and, as an export product, was popular throughout the Americas. The pistol was produced in 6.35 mm, 7.65 mm, and 9 mm Kurz variants, all using the same blowback operating mechanism. Although not expensive, at the time it was of advanced design and high quality construction with relatively few parts. An Ortgies pistol chambered in 6.35 mm was presented to Eva Braun by Adolf Hitler. It differs only slightly from a standard Ortgies pistol, in that it has a small gold plate inlaid into the side of the slide, stamped "Eva Braun". The pistol was removed from her house following World War II and has made its way through a few houses since. The overall condition is fine. Nicely finished in nickel. The action is excellent. The bore is in good condition with good rifling. The grips are solid and in fine shape. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 3-1/2 inches. Caliber: 7.65x17mm (.32 ACP, Browning) Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1250 #226656 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
