WW2 1943 Remington Rand 1911A1 .45 Pistol w/ Holster ** 100% Original & Correct **

Description:
Fresh out of the woodwork, a 1943 production Remington Rand 1911A1 and a modified original WW2 shoulder holster.  This Remington Rand is 100% original and correct, it has not been altered in any way since originally being issued.  It has never been for sale prior to now, as it has resided with the family of the veteran who brought it back.  As you can see from the pictures, it was certainly carried and used in combat.  We were told it had been put up in storage since at least the 1960's, possibly earlier.  The original parkerized finish shows consistent and even wear, and has turned a gray patina.  The bore still shows solid rifling but also is lightly pitted throughout.  The original checkered plastic grips are still intact and in great shape.  They are free from cracks, chips, or repairs.  Everything on this 1911A1 works 100% as it was designed to.  All of the parts have been checked and verified that they are both original and correct.  The slide is still nice and tight on the frame with no slop.  When worked by hand the action is smooth and it goes into battery perfectly with authority.  When in battery, the barrel has no play in it whatsoever.  Both the thumb safety and grip safety work properly, and the trigger is quite good for a combat pistol.  It comes with one original WW2 "S" marked 7-rd magazine.  It also comes with an original U.S.G.I. 1944-dated Enger-Kress WW2 shoulder holster that has been modified to be worn on a belt.  The shoulder strap has been removed and 2 belt slits have been cut into the back of the holster.  The maker mark, "U.S. Enger-Kress 1944" is stamped at the top left rear of the holster and is still legible.  The leather has been conditioned, and is still pliable and soft.  If you have been looking for a nice honest 100% original 1911A1 that was actually carried and used in combat this is it.  This '43 Remington Rand will be a nice addition to a collection as an investment, and a great shooter as well for someone who enjoys shooting historically important pieces.
