1930s Broomhandle with detachable mags
Description: Sale pending to Mr. Ortega / / C96 CHINESE Hanyang ARSENAL BROOMHANDLE MODEL 1930 with two detachable magazines, and in 9MM. Comes with one 20 round mag and one ten round mag. Any detachable magazine model 1930 is rare! Very few were ever imported into this country and the Model 712 has the selective fire switch which makes it illegal for most of us. A beat up and worn out 20 round magazine can itself sell for $350-450. This one has SERIAL #51493 and is marked as being in caliber 9mm luger…features 12-grooved hardwood grips with some dings and the lanyard loop. One of the stories as to how these came to be is as follows; the Nazis stopped the export of these guns that were being made under contract for the Chinese Government. Allegedly Hitler was petitioned directly to stop the export of the pistols, as Mauser had several thousand still remaining that were part of a large Chinese order that were due to be shipped to China, thus closing out that purchase order. The approval was obtained to breach to contract, and the Nazis then issued the pistols they had kept to their SS units. The Chinese, not to be outdone, started making their own detachable magazine model at their official Arsenals utilizing internal parts from other 1930 Model pistols they had already purchased. (The standard 1930 had a fixed magazine.) This pistol has the Hanyang markings, and it was one of their more famous arsenals in their war effort against the Japanese. The photos of this pistol are accurate, and condition is very good. It shoots to point of aim at 25 yards too. This is a very cool and hard to find pistol that is fun to shoot. Must ship to an FFL and will ship via FEDEX. Credit cards add the 3% for the service fee. Strength and Honor! SOLD |
