Description: Make: Manurhin
Model: P1

The left side of the trigger guard is marked with a “Berlin Sunburst” (FDR Police Acceptance Mark.) The right side of the slide has two proof marks. The left side of the lug on the barrel is marked “9777” and the front face is marked with a circled dot.
Barrel Length: 5”
Sights / Optics: The blade front sight is dovetailed into the barrel and the rear sight is a “U” notch dovetailed into the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered black plastic with a slightly raised thumbrest on the left side and a lanyard ring near the bottom of the left side. The grips rate in about Very Good overall condition.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 85% of its current metal finish. The frame shows surface loss around the sides of the trigger guard and light handling marks. The slide shows slight finish thinning on its front and right side edges. The takedown lever and magazine release serrations are sharp. The grip screw head is sharp. Overall, this handgun rates about 85% condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This pistol has a decocker.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a box and one blued 8-round magazine. The floorplate shows light wear but the magazine is in otherwise good condition.
Assessment: Manurhin's facilities are just across the Rhine River from Walther, and the frame and slide blanks are made on their tooling, then shipped across the river to Germany to be finished. For the West Berlin contract, 2500 P1 pistols were produced, finished and proofed in France to circumvent the treaty. These pistols featured a chrysanthemum flower on theof the trigger guard on the left side. Slide legend reads "Manufacture De Machines Du Haut Rhin" with the Maurhin logo above "Made in France", followed by "PISTOLET P1" above "9mm X 19" parts for the Manurhin P1 were made by Walther in Ulm and then were shipped to the French plant, where they were marked, assembled, and proof-tested. They were essentially made for the West German police, but other police agencies used them as well. (The terms of the Four Powers Agreement required that no German weapons could be used by the German police force, and the Manurhin was technically a French weapon, not German.) This pistol has Walther quality control marks on the slide, frame and barrel, and a Sunburst on the left side of the frame indicating acceptance by the FDR police as well as a crossed cannons mark on the slide. It has no import markings. This pistol is in great condition with at least 85% of its finish remaining. This pistol can be shot double action and has a great bore. It would be a great choice as a collectors item, home protection pistol or for WWII re-enactors.
