WW1 German 1918 DWM Artillery Luger in 9mm ** The Perfect All-Original and Matching Shooter **

Description:
During WW1the Imperial German Army issued these 8" inch barreled 9mm Artillery model Lugers to artillery and machine gun crews, troops that were not issued standard Mauser rifles.  These Artillery Lugers have an adjustable rear sight for elevations out to 800 meters, and were issued with a shoulder stock so they were more effective at these longer ranges.  These long barreled Lugers became prized war trophies for the American fighting troops in WW1, and most of the examples you see in the States today came back as trophies when the war ended.  This particular example was made by DWM in 1918 and is all-original and all-matching except for the magazine.  The original factory blue finish has an honest combat-used look to it.  It shows wear and handling marks consistent with a weapon used in the trench warfare of WW1.  The blue is bright in some of the protected areas but shows a brown patina in the more exposed areas.  The bore in this Artillery is average in that it still shows good rifling but shows some light pitting throughout the barrel.  It should still be an excellent shooter and very accurate.  The original serial numbered grips are in good condition overall.  Both sides match each other perfectly in degree of wear and color, and are free from any cracks, chips, or repairs.  All of the controls on this DWM are in perfect working order, and the toggle-action is slick and locks up tight.  We have no doubt that this Luger would shoot just as reliably and accurately today as the day it left the factory 101 years ago.  It comes with one original and correct wood-bottom magazine in perfect working order.  The wood bottom has been worn slick or is un-marked.  If you have been looking for a original Artillery model Luger for your collection that you can enjoy as both an investment and as a shooter, this 1918 DWM would be the perfect choice.  It has the perfect combat-used look to it, and it has not been modified or "improved" in any way.
