RARE MAUSER CODE 42 P-08 LUGER DATED "41" CAL, 9MM, SER 2544o. THIS "VAULT QUEEN" IS THE SECOND SCARCEST LUGER VARIATION. IT IS ONE OF ONLY 12,000 WHICH WERE STAMPED WITH THE 1940 CODE OF "42" WHEN IN REALITY THE TWO DIGIT YEAR OF "41" GUNS SHOULD HAVE HAD A "BYF' CODE. IN 1941 WHEN MAUSER STARTED MAKING "BYF" CODED GUNS THEY WERE SHORT "BYF" CODED BOLTS. HOWEVER THEY DID HAVE 17,000 BOLTS CODED 42 FROM 1940 PRODUCTION. SO THEY USED THEM ON THE FIRST 17,000 "41" DATED GUNS. THE BALANCE OF 106,00 GUNS PRODUCED IN 1941 HAD THE PROPER "BYF" CODE. THE CONDITON OF THIS "41" IS AWESOME. IT HAS RETAINED ABOUT 98-99% OF THE ORIGINAL FACTORY FINISH. THE ONLY LOSS THERE IS, IS FROM SOME VERY SLIGHT SHARP EDGE SILVERING.THERE ARE NO RUST PATCHES, PINPRICKS, SCRATCHES OR RUB MARKS ANYWHERE.THE GRIP STRAPS SHOW NO SIGN OF GRAYING. ALL NUMBERS MATCH INCLUDING THE MAGAZINE AND ALL THE WAFFENAMTS ARE PROPER**. THE GRIP PANELS ARE PERFECT NOT EVEN A BROKEN POINT. THEGRIP SCREWS ARE ALSO PERFECT.
